AVYRU Labs LLC (“AVYRU Labs,” “we,” “us”) provides Kids Wing, a preschool and daycare communication platform (Android package in.kidswing.platform). This policy covers the Kids Wing app and its web application, including testing releases.
Kids Wing connects authorized adult family members and school staff. Schools provide access and enter children's records. Photos and daily updates are shared within authorized school and family access. Voice input is optional. For privacy or deletion requests, contact your school or [email protected].
1. Who uses Kids Wing
Kids Wing is intended for adult parents or guardians, teachers, school administrators and authorized platform administrators. It is not intended for children to create accounts or use independently. Accounts and invitations are managed through participating schools; public self-registration is not available.
Schools decide which children, staff and family members participate and which school records to enter and publish. They are responsible for their authority to provide those records and for required notices and permissions. AVYRU Labs operates the platform and processes information to provide it. Your school's own privacy notices may also apply to its use of school records.
2. Information processed
- Accounts and access: names, email addresses, account identifiers, school codes, staff identifiers, roles, classroom assignments, invitations, account status and parent-to-child links. Authentication services process sign-in credentials and authentication tokens.
- Children and school records: names, dates of birth where entered, classroom and school membership, attendance, meals, naps, activities, teacher notes, announcements and related dates and record status. Free-text notes may contain additional information a school chooses to provide.
- Photos: images school staff choose to capture or select and attach to updates, together with captions or associated record information.
- Questions: text you type or obtain through optional speech recognition and submit using Ask, together with the school and child context needed to retrieve authorized published records.
- Technical and support information: authentication and service logs, request timestamps, network information such as IP addresses, device or browser information made available to service providers, error information, and information you send when requesting support.
3. How information is used
Information is used to authenticate users; manage school, classroom and family access; record and display school updates; store and deliver selected photos; answer submitted questions using available published records; provide support; diagnose errors; and maintain service reliability and security.
The current Ask Kids Wing feature retrieves information from school records. It does not require a general-purpose generative AI model to answer questions. A missing update does not establish that an event did or did not occur.
4. Camera, photo selection and voice input
School staff can choose to take a photo or select an existing image for an update. Camera or photo access is requested when needed for those actions. Selected images are uploaded when an update is saved. Kids Wing does not require access to your entire photo library to display school updates.
When you choose “Speak your question,” the device or browser speech-recognition provider processes microphone input to produce text. Depending on your device, settings and provider, audio may be processed on the device or sent to that provider's servers under its privacy practices. Do not assume speech recognition is always offline.
You can review and edit the recognized text before tapping Ask. The submitted text is processed to answer your question. The current question feature does not upload a separate audio recording to Kids Wing's school-record storage. You can type instead and manage camera and microphone permissions in device or browser settings.
5. Who can access information
Access is based on school membership, role, classroom assignments and authorized family links. Parents can view published information for children linked to their accounts. Teachers and school administrators have access appropriate to their school duties. Authorized platform administrators may access information as needed to administer, secure and support the service.
Publishing an update within Kids Wing makes it available to authorized recipients; it does not make it a public web post. Recipients can still take screenshots or share information outside the app, so schools and families should handle children's information carefully.
6. Service providers and other disclosures
Kids Wing uses Google Firebase and Google Cloud services for authentication, database storage, photo storage and server-side processing. These providers process data needed to operate and protect the service. Optional speech recognition also involves the device or browser speech provider described above. Email providers process invitations, sign-in messages and support correspondence.
We may disclose information when necessary to comply with applicable law or a valid legal request, protect people and the service, investigate abuse, or support a business transfer with appropriate safeguards and notice where required. We do not sell personal information or use children's records or photos for targeted advertising.
Information may be processed in countries other than your own, depending on where our service providers operate. Privacy protections can differ between countries.
7. Retention, archiving and deletion requests
Account and school data are retained as needed to provide the service, support the school's recordkeeping, maintain security, resolve disputes and meet applicable legal obligations. Retention depends on the type of record and the school's needs; there is no single automatic deletion period for all school records.
Archiving an update is not permanent deletion. It removes the update from normal parent-facing views while retaining the school record. Disabling an account or unlinking a parent similarly does not automatically erase historical records.
To request access, correction, account deletion or deletion of associated information, contact your school administrator or email [email protected] with the subject “Kids Wing Data Request.” Include your school name, account email or staff identifier, and a description of the request. Do not send passwords or unnecessary child records by email.
We may verify your identity and authority and coordinate with the school before acting on a request. Some records may need to be retained for legal obligations or legitimate school recordkeeping, and requests may affect other authorized users' records. We will explain applicable limitations when responding. Residual copies may remain temporarily in provider backups or security logs according to their retention processes. Uninstalling the app does not delete server-side data.
8. Security and your choices
The platform uses authenticated access and school- and role-based controls to restrict records and photos. Data is transmitted using encrypted connections. No service can guarantee absolute security. Protect your sign-in links and credentials, sign out on shared devices, and notify your school if access should be revoked.
You can choose whether to use voice input and manage device permissions. Ask your school to correct inaccurate records or family links. Privacy rights depend on your location; contact us to request access, correction, deletion or other rights available to you.
9. Children's information
Children's information is supplied and managed by authorized adults for school communication and care-related recordkeeping. Schools should enter only information needed for those purposes and obtain any required parent or guardian permissions, including for photos. If you believe information about a child has been provided without appropriate authority, contact the school and AVYRU Labs so we can investigate.
10. Website visits and policy changes
Visits to this public website are covered by our website privacy notice, including Cloudflare hosting and website analytics. That notice is separate from the school records handled by Kids Wing.
We may update this policy as the service changes. The effective date above identifies the current version. Where required, we will provide additional notice of material changes.
